1 John 5 14 declares that this is the confidence that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us and if he hears us then we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. Confidence in prayer is key if one is going to be successful because a lack of confidence hinders that prayer. A person would simply be wasting their time to approach God In Prayer not really believing that they would be heard, it would simply be going through the motions and would not be effective Prayer. A person who is really trusting God's word should understand that God is not a man that he should lie nor the son of man that he should repent numbers 23:19. So since God cannot lie his word is the foundation needed to bring the confidence and faith needed for Effective prayer.
